Reigning Real...One Step (and a prayer) at a time with Carol Van Atta

I'm sitting here with my rat, Baby, on my shoulder. I know. I know. Some of you are practically convulsing with the "gross factor." You can't stand their tails ... ? My mom and son would agree wholeheartedly with you. However, I find these rodents to be super smart, friendly, and cuddly.
Sadly, one of my furry friends had to be put to sleep today. It was heartbreaking. When the vet walked out and said, "I'm sorry for your loss," I burst into tears. This woman totally cared about how my feelings for this little critter. My daughter was with me. She handled it better than I did. In fact, she responded to my tears with the same comforting words i've used with her in regard to death. Hum... they really do listen to what we're saying. That can be good, and other times not so good.
I am getting ready to go out of town for a mission trip/speaking event tomorrow. Please pray that God will use me to effectively touch lives with His grace. I will be working primarily with teens at this particular event. This should be very interesting.
Upon my return it's all about writing and rewriting. I can hardly wait to move forward with my changes.
Well, I gotta run. I'm always racing around last minute. Hopefully, I'll learn to better embrace balance in my life. Good topic for next time!
Goodnight.
