Reigning Real...One Step (and a prayer) at a time with Carol Van Atta

Welcome to almost Monday. It's time to get back in the grind of life. Sorry about the heading, but I am astounded (still) by the amount of SPAM that comes to my comments from the same IP address. Does this person/s have nothing to do but send me junk messages that I will delete so no one can see them? Strange line of work. Do these folks get paid? They must.
Anyway, can we have a Hallelujah Moment? I excercised today. I moved past the thinking about it, praying about it, analyzing the virtures of it, considering why I should or shouldn't do it, and actually DID IT! Rocky Theme Song ... I can hear it now. "Getting strong now ... "
Goodness, you'd think I'd ran a marathon. Seriously, for those of you who are also excercise-challenged (you know who you are) you understand exactly why I'm so excited. It's like I have to mentally prepare myself to move my backside to my excercise equipment and, well, excercise.
For some of you reading, maybe this sounds riduculous. Maybe you struggle instead with opening your Bible. You, too, think about it, pray about etc. etc. etc. and find cracking the cover to be overwhelmingly difficult. When you finally do that daily devotion it's like you took a trip to the moon. See you do understand! We all have our area or areas that we want to do, yet don't do.
What if all of us, for today, did that one thing we know we need to do, but for whatever reason/s are not doing it? Can you imagine the warm fuzzy feelings we'd experience? The blessing we'd be to others? So ... what are we waiting for?
We can do it. We can do anything with God's help. The Holy Spirit empowers us beyond what any steroid or herbal concoction possibly can. He is, after all, the best Power Source around. Let's plug into Him and get going.
I'm tired of the Monday blues. I'm tired of feeling immobile when it comes to physical fitness. I know there is something in your life that you're tired of too. So ...
Let's pray and then start our day, shall we?
Dear Lord,
There are specific things that you call each of us to do. We know in our hearts what those "things" are. Yet, so often, we get hung up along the way to actually doing them. We procrastinate. We complain. We just plain give up.
As Christians, we are connected to the most powerful Power Source of all -- You. Help us turn our thoughts away from the reasons why we can't do something and instead help us focuss on You and all the reasons why we can.
Please give all of us a fresh burst of physical and spiritual energy this week. Allow us to meet every challenge head on in Your power by our faith. Help us encourage others to stay in the race and never give up. Thank you for running with us, Lord. In Your Awesome Name we Pray, amen.
