Denise: In response to your question...... for one, I have been blogging a couple of years so I have accumilated some friends who stop in. However, there are often times when I do not have new posts. I just started visiting and posting on other's blogs and they would simply respond to mine in my tagboard. I also occasionally hunt for new friends. I usually click on the Journal COmmunity link above and type in Christian moms/wives/ladies in the search menu and it pops up some and then I go and read t

The devil is busy

As Christians, we know that devil looks evil, acts evil, and is plain and simply evil. Unfortunately, most people consider him a myth, fairytale, or guy dressed in a little red suit, with horns protuding from his head, a forked tail, and carrying a pitchfork, which he uses now and again to poke the bottom of some unsuspecting person -- a person deserving of a good painful poke.

Although the devil, satan, lucifer (his names are many) is evil, more often than not, he appears as an "angel of light." It seems his fake and phony light has been shining on the path of one disillusioned soul -- a wiccan "healer."

Apparently, as the story goes, this man made a deal with the "gods." If he were to win the lottery, he would make sure to teach wiccan classes. In other words, he made a pact with the devil. Wicca is one of the newest rages in paganism and enjoys a large following. Sadly, though, there are no "white witches." According to the Bible, any form of witchcraft is considered an abomination to God. There is one true Power Source and that is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Before any witches get on me about being narrowminded, let me tell you that I spent many a year researching and toying with numerous pagan religions, however, they always left me empty, fearful, and confused. The power and initial "fun" quickly faded and I was left wondering how I could have bought into such meaningless madness. Only after completely giving up on what the world had to offer, and surrendering to Christ, was I able to find any sort of permanent healing and joy, not to mention freedom from so many former bondages and addictions.

As the world continues to spiral to its ultimate conclusion, people will become more and more desperate for something or someone to provide answers. The devil will continue to offer his own array of super-slick alternatives to true salvation -- leading many heart hungry people to trade their souls for a lie. After all, when serving satan, you are serving the father of lies.

Now, people hungry for prosperity will rush to their nearest bookstore to learn more about wicca. Isn't it something that wicca can get the front page because a man wins money? I wonder if the same attention would be paid to a person who gave credit to God for their winnings? I wonder ...

We must act! Christian friends, please, please, please -- pray, prepare, and plan for how you will handle conversations about wicca and other earth-centered "religions." How can we, with grace, share the gospel message? The ultimate treasure won't be found on this earth but in Heaven. Make certain that you know enough about what is going on in the world to have an intelligent discussion, and be able to share how God provides a much better alternative. He alone is the real deal. Everything else is false and phony.

As God's Word tells us, we are to be ready to share the reason for our belief at any given moment. Do your best and trust God to do the rest.

Remember: In the end...God wins.

His light will overcome the darkness once and for all. Lottery winnings, like any earthly thing, are temporary. You can't take it with  you. What really matters is who you belong to. If you're not sure, please, investigate the claims of Christ as vigorously as you would investigate a life insurance plan, after all, He is your afterlife insurance plan. His policy is eternal.
